Lip reduction is a cosmetic surgery procedure to remove excess lips tissue. The purpose of this surgery is to reduce the overly appearance of large lips.

Before doing the lip reduction surgery you choose make an appointment for a consultation. The consultation will be focusing on your goals and you will disclose all information about your health.

If you smoke, then you should tell the surgeon what medications or vitamins that you’ve been taking. It’s very important to tell the surgeon all your medications that you are presently take. This can avoid the risk that might happen.

Lip reduction can be performed under local anesthesia, but regional anesthesia may be applied as well. There are many surgeons who choose to use light sleep anesthesia in this cosmetic surgery procedure.

Lip reduction usually takes about 15 to 30 minutes for the operation to be done. The recovery time will be about 2 weeks. You may have swelling after the surgery please note that this is normal and nothing to be worried. Normally the swelling will be gone within 2 weeks.

Before we begin lip reduction surgery, we will give you pre-operative information that explains everything you need to know. The information will include a list of all medication you should not take 2 weeks before the operation.

Also we will inform you how you will be recovered from the operation, and what are the processes of pre-operation and post-operation.

When the operation begins, the surgeon will give you the choice of anesthesia as you have discussed with the surgeon. If you had been given valium or oral sedative before the operation, you will feel less anxiety. The operation will be painless however you can choose to stay awake throughout the process without feeling anything.

To get the best result of lip reduction, you need to do the computer image for your lips to see the different between before and after. If you have a chance to see the different before getting things done then you are likely to get the result that you want.
